‘Coyote (King of the Island)’ is out now! The first single off of my new album, out April 10th on Excelsior Recordings Supports.

‘Coyote (King of the Island)’ is pure, raw and spontaneous Americana in seven four signature, recorded in just a handful of takes. Leonard Cohen once sang: “There is a crack, a crack in everything. That’s how the light gets in.” I took this personally and decided to record one big crack. Without rehearsals, playbacks or any prior knowledge or preparation, the band was forced to lean into each song and to just trust the process and themselves. Live vocals, one room, no more than three takes of each song, and no cuts or edits. The aim was to elevate the mistake into an art form — even though hardly any mistakes were made by this incredible band: @danny on bass, @theosieben on guitar, @jeroenkleijn on drums, and @tijmen on fiddle. Engineered, produced and mixed by Frans Hagenaars in SSE Noord, Amsterdam. Mastered by Ed Brooks and Annie Larkin, Resonant Mastering, Seattle, WA. Song and lyrics by yours truly.
