In Loom

After more than 20 years of making music together - in bands as Showdog and No Ninja Am I - Gijs and Sander re-emerge as indie duo In Loom. The name evokes a state of becoming: in the loom, in the making, where songs take shape, the place they feel most at home: between guitar sounds and vocal lines. In Loom plays shoegaze ballads and indie rock using only guitar and bass.

Songs written and recorded by Gijs & Sander, produced by Gijs, mixed by Gijs & Michel Vermeulen, mastered by Michel at Studio peggy51.

Alongside In Loom, Gijs releases music as Gish and forms the Dutch-language duo GemeengoeD with trombonist Ilja Reijngoud.
Sander also makes music as No Ninja Am I and is part of De Breek.

"Life moves on regardless of good intentions, hopes or dreams. This is what “Tails,” the newest single by In Loom concludes. It’s a hypnotic, short track filled with enough angst to give you a 90-second panic attack. But that’s good!"

"Tails feels like a snapshot of the past colliding with the present, raw, reflective, and refreshingly unpolished in all the right ways."
Last Day Deaf

"The cutting corners to make music smoother and easier to digest mentality is nowhere in sight on Tails. But that is just fine, as the world can do with a little roughness every once in a while. In Loom delivers it in full glory."
WoNo Magazine

"Once Upon Time is dreamy and melancholic (..) a quiet intensity that worked out very well."
Here Comes the Flood

"The emotion of the guitar, which is imbued with the feeling of the song, the voice that carries the melody along with it, and the effective sounds that fill the background are all wonderful."
Niche Music

"Dutch indie duo In Loom’s “Tails” explores loss and fading energy, blending personal imagery into a poignant reflection on youth, sensitivity, and enduring connections in under two minutes."
