New album in the making!

Hey, it's been a while since we talked. We've got some exciting news. We're pretty far into the process of recording a new album. We've been drawing inspiration from some of our favorite movie soundtracks. Besides old Disney movies like Bambi (and Bambi 2 I mean o my god that soundtrack) we've been listening to my favorite composer Danny Elfman a lot. Do you know the movie Edward Scissorhands? The music in that film is just otherworldly, check it out if you need some magic in your life.

For the first time in MMM history, I'm not making this album all by myself. Stef Koenis who has been playing keys in our live band for a long time is co-producing this album with me. When I sent him a demo song with 30 cello plugins playing all the string parts he was like "I might be able to arrange this a bit nicer", and arrange he did! And before I knew it we were spending countless hours mixing together and recording magical sounds. It was interesting to see what direction a song can take when you trust someone enough to give them the freedom to just do whatever. And from there you can go back and forth. It's been a great experience and I've learned a lot! We've even got live-drums on this album (played by our drummer Jari Deelstra), which was also a first for me.

Anyway, still, lots of work to do though.But I'll try to keep you updated.
